Abstinence, Safety, Children, under, teach

Children under 18 and sex Do you teach safety or abstinence ?

For me i have actually asked my son to abstain ,But he is 17 and he may or may not continue to do so . so i Have also taught him safe sex and how to use protection and std's and so on.where do you stand do you think teaching our children about sex and protection and providing condoms or birth control opens the door as to say you are giving them permission to have sex?Idon'tt think teaching them says that But i am a strong believer in pushing abstinencee first .

I believe in comprehensive sex education with teaches BOTH. Being educated about sexuality and STDS does *not* mean you will go out and have sex. I think the more educated my children are about sex, the more resposible they will be in making decisions about it. Abstinence is also part of that education. The more information/choices we give our kids, the more empowered they will be to make their own decisions.
